HOW BIG IS THE BABY?

Size of an Orange 🍊 . (about 13cm / weighing 140g)


WHATS NEW THIS WEEK?

This was an eventful week!!!

We went for our 16 week scan (yay) and everything was great!! Baby is measuring a week ahead because it’s so tall🤣 but doc says it should even put and he says every baby is different and Trav and I are both tall!

Felt baby move for the first time! It felt so surreal. Like butterflies/when you go on a rollercoaster and your tummy turns. And light tapping. So surreal!

And my lower tummy is so hard!

Hair on my tummy? What? (It’s blonde and fine but there’s more of it🤣)

We went away for the weekend to my uncles farm and it was so nice to be out in fresh air.

Another thing that’s new this week... extreme HUNGER!! Omg I have been ravenous. So hungry. I’m listening to my body and eating more.

MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT

Still have moments of nausea and I feel really dizzy. Especially in the morning.

I really thought the morning sickness had passed for good but I had a morning or vomiting and morning sickness where all I had was my vitamin and tea, and it all came out🤮 ugh. And then I have been feeling nauseous in the morning after my vitamin, especially if I don’t eat immediately!!!


MOST EXCITING MOMENT

Definitely seeing baby in the scan. We took my dad with us to see his first grandchild and I think he really enjoyed it!

And then just getting away for a little bit with family was exciting and being in nature!

Walking and a few toning exercises !

Went on a hike on the weekend :)



MEALS?

Salads, braai’s, baked potatoes and salad, tuna Mayo sandwiches, hotdogs, soup and bread! Also pizza!!! And deserts...

I have been craving more dairy and my body is asking for it, and I know that it’s important to eat while baby is developing in utero, so I have started incorporating some more dairy products to my meals.


FOOD AVERSIONS?

Meat, rich things...


CRAVINGS?

Jelly!!! (So strange)

REFLECTIONS?

I’m finally starting to feel a bit more normal again now that the eternal nausea has (sort of) subsided. Apart from a few mornings of feeling sick, it’s been almost 100% better!

At 14 weeks I started getting headaches which have subsided yay!

I’m honestly needing to wee like 6 times a night and every 20 minutes during the day!!!!!!!🤣

So that’s fun!

Feel like bump has “popped” and can’t hold my tummy in anymore.

Also really just feeling SO grateful for the ability to be pregnant and really leaning into my faith and a mantra Iv'e been repeating mentally is... "Whatever is meant to be will be."

I'm just feeling so much gratitude for my little baby and for our lives and the ability to bring a beautiful life into this world.
