Pregnancy Week 8

Week 8 Pregnancy Vlog

WHAT WEEK?

8

HOW BIG IS THE BABY?

Size of a small wild strawberry šŸ“ (about 1.5cm)

WHATS NEW THIS WEEK?

Went for a checkup on 8 weeks after spotting for a few days, and thank God, everything was fine and the OBGYN said that it is actually very common for women to spot at around 4, 8 and 12 weeks (where it would have been your period) because your body is so used to doing it. In fact itā€™s even normal to have some light period cramping accompanying it.

He did an ultrasound to check up and be safe and everything was fine. The baby was doing so well and had a nice strong heart rate of 174bpm and has more than doubled in size since the scan at 6 weeks plus 6 days. I was so happy and relieved to hear this. The gyne said he wasnā€™t worried at all and that I should just try relax and take it easy. Also not to do any strenuous exercise to put any strain on my body thatā€™s already working so hard. He said I can walk but to just take it easy until 12 weeks, especially because of the spotting. And he also gave me a prescription for progesterone so that my body can just be reminded that it is actually pregnant and doesnā€™t need to spot etc. Iā€™m feeling a lot more peaceful about it. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøšŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»

MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT

Even if I have a nap Iā€™m still ready to go to sleep immediately after dinner šŸ¤£ but Iā€™m trying to push myself a little more during the days just to stay upright a little longer.

My dogs do not want anything to do with me since Iā€™ve been pregnant! Trav is really enjoying this one! But apparently they can smell a change in hormones and you donā€™t smell like ā€œyouā€ anymore. Apparently this fades but it makes me really sadšŸ™ˆ haha

MOST EXCITING MOMENT

The nausea has really started to ease a little bit and Iā€™m getting some of my appetite back! Woohoo. Which is amazing.

Itā€™s also been soo amazing having Trav working from home during the pandemic. So he can go through the pregnancy with meā™„ļø

STARTING WEIGHT?

59kg

CURRENT WEIGHT?

56.8

EXERCISE?

A few slow walks, but otherwise, yet again, nothing. Iā€™ve had a little bit more energy. Obviously following docs orders of just walking and resting. But really havenā€™t done much, just listening to my body and resting. Luckily I am so fortunate to be able to do so.

MEALS?

Definitely starting to eat a little more. I can tell my body really needs it and Iā€™m kind of eating through the remaining nausea.

On Wednesday I ordered a preggo but couldnā€™t actually eat the chicken so I just ate the hot chips that came with, with tomato sauce and salt!

Iā€™ve been eating quite badly šŸ¤£ (sorry little baby, Iā€™ll be healthier for you). I need to stop eating so many carbs as thatā€™s all Iā€™m eating at the momentšŸ™ˆ

Tried to throw in a few Salads... smoothies...

FOOD AVERSIONS?

Still meat...

I even ate cooked salmon the one night and threw up almost immediately after!

CRAVINGS?

Sugar! Which is crazy because Iā€™ve been so off it!

Also baked beans on toast.

Iā€™ve been eating fruit Fruit!

Kiwi fruit, mango, strawberries, RASPBERRIES.

And I had Chocolate croissants and Panettone

I had a complete sugar binge the one night on sour sweets, chocolate mousse and Twinkies. Which made me feel so sick and restlessā€” no more shit! Sorry baby.

Iā€™ve been eating cheese this week (which I donā€™t usually eat dairy but Iā€™ve been craving it).

REFLECTIONS?

Just feeling so grateful that everything is okay with baby. We already love you so much babyšŸ™šŸ»ā™„ļø you are so wanted. Iā€™ve been praying and connecting with babe.
