Week 8 Pregnancy Vlog
WHAT WEEK?

HOW BIG IS THE BABY?
Size of a small wild strawberry š (about 1.5cm)
WHATS NEW THIS WEEK?
Went for a checkup on 8 weeks after spotting for a few days, and thank God, everything was fine and the OBGYN said that it is actually very common for women to spot at around 4, 8 and 12 weeks (where it would have been your period) because your body is so used to doing it. In fact itās even normal to have some light period cramping accompanying it.
He did an ultrasound to check up and be safe and everything was fine. The baby was doing so well and had a nice strong heart rate of 174bpm and has more than doubled in size since the scan at 6 weeks plus 6 days. I was so happy and relieved to hear this. The gyne said he wasnāt worried at all and that I should just try relax and take it easy. Also not to do any strenuous exercise to put any strain on my body thatās already working so hard. He said I can walk but to just take it easy until 12 weeks, especially because of the spotting. And he also gave me a prescription for progesterone so that my body can just be reminded that it is actually pregnant and doesnāt need to spot etc. Iām feeling a lot more peaceful about it. ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøšš»šš»šš»
MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT
Even if I have a nap Iām still ready to go to sleep immediately after dinner š¤£ but Iām trying to push myself a little more during the days just to stay upright a little longer.
My dogs do not want anything to do with me since Iāve been pregnant! Trav is really enjoying this one! But apparently they can smell a change in hormones and you donāt smell like āyouā anymore. Apparently this fades but it makes me really sadš haha
MOST EXCITING MOMENT
The nausea has really started to ease a little bit and Iām getting some of my appetite back! Woohoo. Which is amazing.
Itās also been soo amazing having Trav working from home during the pandemic. So he can go through the pregnancy with meā„ļø

A few slow walks, but otherwise, yet again, nothing. Iāve had a little bit more energy. Obviously following docs orders of just walking and resting. But really havenāt done much, just listening to my body and resting. Luckily I am so fortunate to be able to do so.
MEALS?
Definitely starting to eat a little more. I can tell my body really needs it and Iām kind of eating through the remaining nausea.
On Wednesday I ordered a preggo but couldnāt actually eat the chicken so I just ate the hot chips that came with, with tomato sauce and salt!
Iāve been eating quite badly š¤£ (sorry little baby, Iāll be healthier for you). I need to stop eating so many carbs as thatās all Iām eating at the momentš
Tried to throw in a few Salads... smoothies...

I even ate cooked salmon the one night and threw up almost immediately after!
